As with McNamara’s justly celebrated screenplay for “The Favourite,” it’s the emotional honesty of “The Great” that allows the comedy to land so viciously. It's a great show, until the end of season 1 which ends in the shittiest of ways. While I am aware of that just knowing history, you should know the ending, the fact that they spend 10 whole episodes preparing you for the big betrayal, only for it to happen... and then not conclude by the end of episode 10 should be illegal.
