Chapter 1 was meant to be scarier and more creepy since it was the Loser's Club first interaction with Pennywise whereas Chapter 2 was more about making them suffer since It was being vengeful. That's how I perceived the movies at least.

It Chapter 1 is fantastic and a million times better than the original segment with the kids. It chapter 2 is just as bad as the original adult segment.

Andy Muschiette is the director and does a great job. The writers are Chase Palmer, Cary Joji Fukunaga and Gary Daunberman.
