She's great but the overall movie is "meh" to okay. Cotillard has also been better since then Rust & Bone, The Immigrant, etc. It always fascinated me how the Academy gave her the Oscar for this film then struggled to nominate her again until this year. She's just been so consistently good.

Our review: Parents say : Not yet rated. Kids say (6 ): Writer/director Olivier Dahan's biopic is beautifully filmed and grippingly told. As played by Marion Cotillard (in an Oscar-winning performance), Piaf is complicated and compelling, the stuff of legend. But although it's impressive, the film fails to bring viewers close enough to its subject.
