Marc Platt got the rights with the intention of Ben playing Evan, and the reason the production was put out so quickly once the rights were acquired was because every day that passes makes it more difficult for audiences to accept Ben as Evan. Someone else could have acquired the rights, but wouldn't have had any reason to put a rush on the production.

  3. Simplest answer is people are fucking cruel. It's one thing to simply not like a movie. But so far I have seen so many demonize the character of evan and make awful remarks about the actor that played him. Yes i get it he looked much older than a teen but there is no reason to personally insult the actor.
