Certainly Geometry requires craftsmanship - it is art-isinal. To do it well requires a long apprenticeship. It requires imagination. But unlike art, it does not inquire into the tragic or the comedic, it disdains DaDa and the the surreal, it is orthogonal to the fantastic, the monstrous and the horrifying.

I sense some kind of logical fallacy in your argument that: the same things go into producing Art and Mathematics, therefore Mathematics is an Art.
All sciences requires experiments. So while mathematics does have an empirical side to it it also has components of other things one would liken to the ARTS. So mathematics must be a hybrid subject and not a pure this or that type of topic. It can be more than one thing as an art and a science simultaneously. –
