Mulholland Drive was shot on 35 mm film using Panavision Panaflex Platinum cameras and has been newly scanned (by Criterion and Studiocanal in a joint venture) and restored under the watchful eye of director David Lynch and DoP Peter Deming, from the original camera elements, to form a 4K DI from which this UHD is sourced.

Jan 19, 2022 · It’s one of those films that grabs hold and never lets go once it has its claws in you. The Criterion Collection’s Ultra HD upgrade of the film is remarkable. The picture quality of their Blu-ray release was top of the line, but the 4K UHD is nearly definitive. Highly recommended. - Tim Salmons.

As far as I can tell the DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround presentation here sounds about the same as the one found on the old Blu-ray. On the base of it the track is very dynamic and mixed nicely through the surround environment.
