Mulholland Drive was shot on 35 mm film using Panavision Panaflex Platinum cameras and has been newly scanned (by Criterion and Studiocanal in a joint venture) and restored under the watchful eye of director David Lynch and DoP Peter Deming, from the original camera elements, to form a 4K DI from which this UHD is sourced.

The Studiocanal has a better video encode so there's finer grain and more high frequency detail with that disc. e.g. example 1 example 2 So if you're a nut for absolute picture quality or plan on viewing with a really large display/projector then that would be my pick. Jan 19, 2022 · It’s one of those films that grabs hold and never lets go once it has its claws in you. The Criterion Collection’s Ultra HD upgrade of the film is remarkable.
