Mulholland Drive is not really a mystery movie and its interesting parts don't really come from the plot. It's more of a character and theme movie. The structure is interesting because of the parallel between literal dream vs. reality, and the 'dream' of Hollywood (a tagline for the film is "a love story in the city of dreams").
