However, what I don't understand is how this film is so often mentioned in the same breath as films like 'Citizen Kane' and '2001: A Space Odyssey'. It's regularly cited as one of the top 20-30 films of all time, and if I can expose myself as uncultured, I just don't get it.
I think going into it thinking it's been called the "Best Film of the 21st Century" is a terrible way to watch it and pretty sure to result in disappointment. It's a really unique movie by an important director that's been fairly influential and is widely loved by critics.
