A few films I would personally have ahead of Mulholland Drive: Hunger, Children of Men, Parasite, Pan’s Labyrinth. And a few maybes: The Social Network, Get Out, A Separation, There Will Be Blood. I do think Mulholland Drive is top ten, but more likely between 4-10 for me. 🤷🏻♂️
The perfect town in blue velvet hides an insidious night life and by the end of the film the two worlds collide violently. It’s the same in mullholland dr only substitute Hollywood for suburban town. David lynch also references the wizard of oz in a lot of films and the wizard of oz is also an allegory for Hollywood.

I saw and enjoyed Mulholland Drive first, but a lot of the creepiness feels similar to Fire Walk With Me. The shit Laura Palmer goes through in that movie is super-cringe, whereas there's more comic relief in Mulholland Drive. Still a great movie. Wild at Heart too, glad I finally found a copy of the blu-ray.
