ADMIN MOD. 2024 looks like it’s going to be a crazy year for power metal. I think this year’s lineup of PM albums is going to be a lot more impressive in terms of “big name” bands than last year. Last year had heavy hitters too with Kamelot and Gloryhammer, but this year’s looks extremely promising. Already confirmed:
Around 27 USPM albums were released last year. There were some good debuts last year like Treacherous Ways by Helms Deep, Chaos to the Realm by Owlbear and self-titled debut of Protean Shield. Some of the USPM bands from the 80s released clunkers last year like Sign of the Cross by Savage Grace and The Passion of Dionysus by Virgin Steele.

With old guards like HEAVY LOAD and CIRITH UNGOL putting out bangers, as well some young titans arriving like SAVAGE and COBRA SPELL.

Dec 29, 2023 · Looking back on the year so far, one can be equally delighted and grateful on the quality, quantity and diversity of NWOTHM albums to pop-up during the past 12 months. Clearly the genre is on the rise, emerging stronger than ever from the pandemic freeze, partly redefined to the new environment, still thriving on a solid foundation of passionate fanbase worldwide.
