Miranda Lambert remains a bright spot, a songwriting champion, and someone who keeps it somewhat country in a hostile environment.

   This album is REALLY good, only main thematic issue is no pedal steel guitar, but I think they wanted more of a 70s soft rock vibe than country this time around. 29 palms would be great with steel, though… we’ll see which songs grow on us over time, it’s way too early to rank it among the other albums, I don’t think it’ll be as good as Ruins but nothing ever will be for me.
