  1. Oct 3, 2019 · This game is more in line with Risen (2 and 3) than Gothic 1 and 2. If you're okay with that, then you'll like this. If you miss the old Gothic games, this doesn't really fill that hole. You're not going to find great characters like Diego, Gorn, Lares, Lee, etc.

If you like that one, try Gothic 2 (it's great, but old enough you'll have to adjust a bit to the dated graphics) and Elex (key to enjoying Elex despite its combat is to find a ranged weapon with a knockback attack for your faction - plasma rifle for Clerics, others have one as well I believe).

  6. I've played all of PB's games and there is a difference between Gothic and Risen. The fact that Elex seems to feel more like Gothic 2 than any of their other games tells me that they understand that something in that game worked better than anything else they came up with after.

  7. May 31, 2018 · Risen is my least favorite of PB games (from among the good ones), but it's a pretty good game overall. The first part especially is amazing. Later parts unfortunately, not as good. When PB gameplay comes together, there is nothing quite like it.
