  2. Nov 2, 2024 · There is a critical need to address the purpose of studying Islamic psychology, which aims to nurture holistic well-being. This field should be grounded in Islamic-based and local wisdom-based knowledge regarding human nature, behavior, and all aspects of humanity.

  3. An Islam-based psychology offers a turning point as it broadens the scope of both epistemology and ontology beyond the mainstream psychology. It also offers a new definition of humanity and claims that the nature of being a human is way beyond what our psychological schools of thought have suggested so far.

  4. Based on this broad array of fragmented scholarship, it appears that at present, Islamic psychology is defined and/or conceptualized according to however a particular scholar understands it which is usually based on his or her own work.
