- 'West Side Story' (1961) - 92% West Side Story was adapted from a Broadway musical which opened just four years earlier. Directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins with music from Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, the film follows the rivalries between two teenage gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, and the two lovers that were caught in between.

- 'Warm Bodies' (2013) - 81% Based on Isaac Marion's novel, Warm Bodies sees a zombie called R who met with Julie (obviously a nod to the Capulet girl). When he first laid eyes on her, he felt his heart beating again and in return, Julie also grew fond of him.
Romeo and Juliet has been adapted more than thirty times for film and television, in many languages and with varying degrees of faithfulness to the original text. Three English-language versions that use Shakespeare’s text are widely available:
When Mercutio, Romeo's friend, is killed in a fight, Romeo kills a Capulet in revenge. He's exiled then to Mantua to expiate his action. A priest tries to help the couple but, due to a mistake, Romeo thinks Juliet is dead and he kills himself.

- Romeo + Juliet (1996) - 6.7. Stream On HBO Max. While several adaptations have a historical background to illustrate the story, Baz Luhrmann's vision is the boldest with its pure modern 1990s setting.
- Warm Bodies (2013) - 6.8. Stream On Pluto TV & Freevee. Warm Bodies is an unusual Romeo and Julie story with a zombie premise. After a zombie who goes by R eats the brains of Julie's boyfriend, he unexpectedly falls in love with her.
- Shakespeare In Love (1998) - 7.1. Stream On HBO Max. Shakespeare In Love is not exactly a direct Romeo and Juliet movie, but it is a fictional tale of the inspiration behind the tragic chronicle.
