There are plenty of options for accommodation in San Francisco. I don’t feel that one post can cover the whole city, nor do I feel myself to be anywhere near an expert in all the photographic locations in San Francisco. - Coit Tower and Pioneer Park. Best time to photograph: Sunset. The observation deck of Coit Tower, perched atop Telegraph Hill, is the perfect spot to capture some scenic views over the city.
- Pier 7. Best time to photograph: At sunrise as the morning light strikes the financial district. With its wooden boardwalk, romantic lanterns and incredible symmetry Pier 7 should be high on your list of San Francisco photo locations.
- Museum of Ice Cream. Best time to photograph: We recommend the first tour of the day when crowds are lower. If you want to bring an element of fun and color pop to your San Francisco photography then check out fantastic Museum of Ice Cream.
- Pier 39 & Alcatraz. Most visitors to San Francisco make a stop at Pier 39 with its carnival-like attractions, souvenir shopping and aquarium. The best thing about Pier 39 is the huge population of sea lions who have made their home on the docks to the west of the pier.

Sep 21, 2024 · Lands End Labyrinth. I’m sure you’ve seen this SF photo spot all over instagram — it’s one of the best photography spots in San Francisco. Follow the winding pathway of the Lands End Trail and go down the stairs towards Mile Rock Beach, and you’ll find the Land Ends Labyrinth hiding away on a cosy cliff corner.
The San Lorenzo River runs through the park, which is yet another element that makes this setting so gorgeous. $10 entrance fee per car, or park on the side of Highway 9 and walk in. These last two locations are not exactly in the Bay Area, but they’re within driving distance. Two totally different biomes! 11. Natural Bridges, Sonora.
