   It's easier to get high grades at UBC than at SFU. The 97% cutoff for A+ in a lot of Arts classes here is ridiculous. Even in Sciences you need a 95%, but at UBC 90% is an A+. I thought SFU does too. Depends on faculty and class. A lot of psyc classes are, but most Poli classes aren't.

   Is SFU a good school for PSYC students?

   • There’s a lot of personal factors that you have to decide are important to you, what you want to get out of your undergrad etc.. I’m not too familiar with the department at UBC, but being a psyc student at SFU I can speak to that. There’s a really good variety of classes here, and the profs are very good.

   Why did you choose SFU?

   • Ultimately, I chose sfu because it’s closer to home, so I didn’t have to move out of my parents house, saving a bunch of money on rent, etc. Both schools have great programs and great reputations, so I think it comes down to those individual factors like commute time and money :) If you have any other questions let me know!

   Do PSYC courses transfer from SFU to UBC?

   • Also my psyc courses directly transferred from the college to SFU and only transferred as credits to UBC meaning I wouldn’t meet certain pre reqs for 3rd year courses. I think someone else had mentioned it’s important to check upper division classes, you should pick the school that offers courses you want to take.
