It's a miracle 2 of them graduated college and held a job, the expected outcome would be that they'd become hardened criminals. The references of revenge in 'The Count of Monte Cristo' is seen throughout the movie, I guess that's why they celebrate in the end. It's almost like they got closure. A very very sad movie.

Sleepers is incredibly hard to watch, but well worth your time. The tale of 4 best mates whose lives were ruined after a prank gone wrong, leading them to a reform school where they're abused by the guards and are forever broken. Its never easy to watch and many time i felt like turning it off, but the revenge "What I've always wanted.
