Transformed had a great system of unlocking car upgrades through xp. It was a great way to encourage you to try out characters you normally wouldn't bother playing. It was satisfying to leveling them up. Now you can unlock all the mods for a character without once playing as them.
That was a really good game. On topic, I agree with liking All-Stars Racing Transformed more than Mario Kart, at least when talking about 7 & 8. For one thing, drifting seemed to be way more...

I'm not sure what it is about the Sonic racing games, but I had a ton of fun with All Stars Racing Transformed and now Team Sonic Racing. I would give Team Sonic Racing a 7 out of 10. Totally worth the $40.
