May 25, 2015 · Splendor is an easy game to prepare. The 3 card types are simply shuffled in their individual decks and 4 cards from each deck are placed in a row face-up. These form the 12 cards in the marketplace that are on offer at any one time. The remainder of each deck is set next to its relative row.
Marvel Splendor is like the base game with 1 of the ok mini expansions built in. So it's better than base game but not quite as good as base + expansion. But I must say this: I love Splendor but my kids won't play it because it's "so boring." They do think Marvel Splendor is "really fun" despite being almost identical gameplay.

Splendor is one of the first games I bought after getting back into games and even with my collection hovering ~120 games, it's still the most requested game in my house. I fully expect my grandkids to be enjoying Splendor. My kids bring it out over and over again. They don't seem likely to get bored of it any time soon.
