A show like Succession is a totally recent phenomenon. Prior to the seeds laid by the Sopranos and then continued by Breaking Bad/Mad Men/every other antihero show, this was just not a thing that dominated fiction. So, it doesn't make sense to me to question why someone prefers the approach to fiction that's existed for hundreds of years.

Yes it does get better but if you don't like the aspects of what is happening in the first few you aren't going to like the rest. The show The Americans is a great show but I'm not a fan of spy stuff so I dropped it. People don't need to watch a whole season to see if it is worth watching. Reply reply.
