An awareness of death gives greater meaning to our lives. Awakening to death’s reality prompts us to seek the eternal and motivates us to make the most of each moment. What if there were no death? Life would just go on and on and probably become painfully dull. Death makes us treasure the present.
The Acceptance of Death. Since all of us die, it is clear that the meaning of life must be inseparable from the meaning of death. If we cannot understand death, we cannot understand life, and vice versa. Life and death are two sides of one reality. In principle life is good while it lasts.
