Thus the meaning of the first clause of ver. 10 would be, "If Christ be in you, the body of sin in you is dead; but you are alive in the Spirit." Decisive objections to this view are, (1) that the word σῶμα by itself is not elsewhere used as an equivalent to σάρξ , but as denoting our mere bodily organization.

The Body will continue on sinning, but the Holy Spirit indwelling us helps us by acting 'operationally', and that same Holy Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is the same Holy Spirit currently residing within each born-again believer that will 'resurrect' us, as well, and already has, in essence, since we're now "dead to sin," etc. God looks at us, positionally, as being 'dead to sin ...
And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Listen to the "Verse by Verse" episode covering this scripture. We previously covered Romans 8:14-15 , which explains that those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.
Sep 9, 2021 · The apostle Paul wrote to the believers in Rome, “But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is life because of righteousness” (Romans 8:10).
