Toyota's Supra problem is that the A80 built a reputation off of aftermarket tuners making straightline rocketships. Between that, and people living vicariously through Paul Walker and Gran Turismo, it gained a reputation for performance that I'd argue was not entirely justified. It's a very, very good car for what it is, and it's not a sports car.
