Essie was also excellent as Elizabeth. I am obsessed with starz trilogy the white queen, princess and spanish princess. I hated the casting of Lizzie in the Spanish princess. It annoyed me so much! I feel they could have had Rebecca who played Elizabeth in the white queen maintain her role. I would have preferred Essie in the Spanish princess.
This show is based on the book The White Princess by Philippa Gregory.. And it’s a damn good adaptation of that book, actually. It keeps all the important storylines, condenses the ones that need condensing, streamlines storylines for the pacing needed for a tv show, and overall keeps intact the overall story arc of Philippa Gregory Plantagenet storylines.

The performances are decent, although often bordering on melodramatic excess, which is to be expected, really. Watching Davis and Fairley compete to see who can masticate more scenery makes Princess worth a look.
