Now you can enjoy all of your favorite Atari 2600 games on your PC thanks to Stella! Stella is a multi-platform Atari 2600 VCS emulator released under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Stella was originally developed for Linux by Bradford W. Mott, and is currently maintained by Stephen Anthony.
So, I was wondering if there is a USB adapter that allows you to plug any Atari controller into it. Whether it be a real Atari Joystick, or a real Atari paddle. Then, I just get this adapter thing, and then track down some of the real controllers, and use that with Stella emulator.
Stelladaptor and 2600-daptor support allows real joysticks, paddles, and driving controllers to be used, and support is also included to access a real AtariVox device plugged into a serial port (and actually generate sound from the AtariVox device).

Oct 5, 2024 · I'm developing a new game or downloaded a homebrew ROM that uses a custom controller, and I can't get Stella to recognize it. By default, Stella will use its internal database to determine what controller type to use for a ROM. If there is no entry, it will try to detect the controller by analyzing the ROM.
