   • Worst case scenario is some collection agency trying to get a lien or something. But again, you should know through actual legal means since you would need to be served. The law firm name might be real but that doesn't mean anything. Scammers use real business names and pretend to be them all the time.

   • It is a legit company. Doesn't mean somebody isn't using their name to scam you. There are some typos and syntax in this letter that seems like someone who isn’t a lawyer (or native English speaker either) wrote this. For what it’s worth that law firm is a real law firm in California, and their website has similar graphics to the letterhead.

   • The only thing you need to do is keep this information secret and email them as soon as possible. The law firm’s name isn’t Dewey, Scamem and Howe, but it should be. Because if you email them, they’ll ask for your personal information or some money probably to establish an account – or maybe both.
