Oct 31, 2024 · As a graduate student at UAB, I would stress how crucial it is to take advantage of networking opportunities and interact with instructors. Growth is encouraged by the collaborative environment, and investigating research opportunities improves the academic experience as a whole. However, because of the heavy workload, time management is essential.
Campus is beautiful and modern. The international student population is growing and there is seemingly a lot of institutional support. About 3% of the total student body (undergrad, grad, and med) are non-resident aliens. There are 3 international graduate students in my lab alone, 2 from India. UAB is a fantastic training environment.

My freshman year was a rocky start, I missed home dearly and had trouble making friends. UAB, provided a safe and secure home for me, once I started meeting new people.
