UVic is a good school. Maybe great. Maybe. If you like nature it's amazing. The school is surrounded by flora and fauna, with the ocean just a few minutes away. Victoria itself is a tourist and a tech city, so make of that what you will. Lots of organic food, cheap food, and varieties of food, especially in Saanich (where UVic is mainly located).
Overall, The University of Victoria is a good school. Academics - If you are in the Science faculty, get ready to dive right in to fairly rigorous/difficult coursework! If you are not prepared to work, you will likely fail.

The campus is beautiful and everyone is really friendly. Originally I wanted to go to UBC but I've very happy that I chose UVIC instead. Nicer atmosphere, don't have to worry about getting lost, solid profs and research areas, and really good coffee at the theatre.
