UVic is a good school. Maybe great. Maybe. If you like nature it's amazing. The school is surrounded by flora and fauna, with the ocean just a few minutes away. Victoria itself is a tourist and a tech city, so make of that what you will. Lots of organic food, cheap food, and varieties of food, especially in Saanich (where UVic is mainly located).
Hey! I'm an international at Uvic. My answer is yes and no. Positives : the global community and ics team are incredible, they are a small team but they do a huge amount of work to organsie orientation and pre-arrival info sessions etc. The ics advising drop in is also very useful, I've always been able to get solid info regarding visas etc.

Bus system is pretty good here compared to many other cities. And there is so much nature! Also, the university tends to do well enough in research for an institution its size, so you have access to good professors. Cons: Small school (this is a con for some people). Expensive city.
