    • Amish Paradise. A little biased because the video — guest-starring The Brady Bunch star Florence Henderson — is so funny. But there’s also working in Gilligan’s Island into the song.
    • Eat It. I think one of my favorite moments in any Weird Al song is him taking Michael Jackson singing “Oh Lord!” in Beat It and turning it into “Oh lard!”
    • Smells Like Nirvana. A rarity from Yankovic: Making fun of the original songwriters instead of turning into a song about anything else. And it’s fantastic, including the fact that it is hard to bargle nawdle zouss with all these marbles in my mouth.
    • White and Nerdy. Weird. Al. Rapping.

  3. Sometimes, Al goes through all the trouble of writing a parody of a popular hit song, getting the artist's permission, and recording it only for the original song to be completely lost to time. I think the best example might be Gerardo's "Rico Suave," which Al parodied as "Taco Grande" on Off The Deep End .

    • “My Bologna” Somewhat appropriate given the artist, “Weird Al” Yankovic’s first single, “My Bologna,” was recorded in a men’s bathroom, as this was the only space available to a student disc jockey at Cal Poly in 1979.
    • “Another One Rides the Bus” “Another One Rides the Bus” was recorded in an actual studio (live, in Dr. Demento’s booth, to be precise) but that doesn’t mean it’s a high-quality recording.
    • “Ricky” Weird Al’s “I Love Lucy”-themed song, “Ricky” (a spoof of “Mickey” by Toni Basil), wasn’t just his first stint in the Hot 100, but it was also his first televised music video.
    • “I Love Rocky Road” To get permission for his fourth single (and second about food), “I Love Rocky Road,” Weird Al didn’t need to ask Joan Jett, the artist known for “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” but instead a member of The Arrows, who originally recorded the song in 1975.
