- Add an email address to your account. It is always a great idea to add an email address to your account! The benefits of adding an email address to your account includes resetting your password if you forget your password, keeping your account protected using the 2-Step Verification (2SV) feature, and easier for us to help you when you contact us.
- Never Share Your Password or Cookies, 2SV Codes, or Backup Codes. The most common way players lose their account is by sharing their login information directly with others or by filling out online surveys.
- Enable 2-Step Verification (2SV) This feature makes it so no one else can login to the account even if they know the password. There are different 2SV options you can use: Authenticator App, Email, or Security Keys.
- Always Log Out of Your Account When You're Done Playing. If you leave your account logged in on a computer, anyone else can use that computer and have access to your account.

1 How can I tell if someone is using a fake phone number?
Are you worried that the person who's chatting with you on WhatsApp isn't who they say they are? While WhatsApp does require all users to verify a phone number, some people use free SMS or VoIP services to mask their real phone numbers.
If they claim to be your family member or friend, they should already be in your contacts.
If someone chats you from an unrecognized number pretending to be someone you know, it could be a scam—especially if they claim they've lost their phone and need money to buy a new one.
Scammers often find phone numbers and family/associate names on the dark web and use that information to scam WhatsApp users. If someone you know is trying to talk to you on WhatsApp from a different number:
Call or text that person directly (using their
phone number) to ask if the person who is messaging you on WhatsApp is really then.
Ask the person to video chat with you so you can confirm that they are who they say they are.
Don't give out any personal information or private data.
Even if the person contacting you is in your contacts, be mindful of what you share with them on the app. If any of your contacts falls victim to a WhatsApp scam that results in someone else gaining access to their account, the scammer could be trying to get information from
next. Always think twice before sharing private photos, videos, files, or voice messages with anyone on WhatsApp.
Avoid chatting with phone numbers you don't recognize.
Even if someone claims to be someone you know, make sure their phone number matches up with the phone number you have for them in your phone contacts. If you think the new phone number
belong to that person, don't take their word for it—ask them to prove their identity to you via video chat or phone.
We work diligently to reduce any spam or unwanted messages that might be sent on WhatsApp. However, just like regular SMS or phone calls, it's possible for other WhatsApp users who have your phone number to contact you.
