- Ferry from Mukilteo. The ferry is inexpensive and quick, even for bringing over your car, a no-brainer for starting your day on Whidbey Island. Ferry schedules vary depending on the time of year, but in summer they start early and run late, on the hour and half hour.
- Morning Stop in Langley. Learn everything you’ve ever wanted to know about the local whales at the Langley Whale Center. This small museum has lots of information and is a good starting place for visitors.

Sep 14, 2023 · Keep in mind, Deception Pass State Park is about 80 miles north of Seattle. If you’re planning on getting to Whidbey Island by ferry there are a few options. Either the Clintom/Mukilteo route or Port Townsend/Coupeville route. If you’re traveling from Seattle to Whidbey Island, the Clintom/Mukilteo ferry would be the one you’d likely take.
- Early Morning – Ferry to Whidbey Island. Board the Mulkiteo ferry for the quick journey to Whidbey. Once your car is off, quickly run up to the observation deck to soak in the beautiful sights of Puget Sound and capture some photos.
- Morning – Langley + Brunch. Arrive in Clinton and navigate the 15 minutes to the charming town of Langley. Langely is an adorable town on the coast of the island with quaint shops, resturants and a beautiful path along the water.
- Late Morning – Greenbank Farm. Head to Greenbank Farm, conveniently located in the middle of the island. Greenbank Farm has a ton of stalls selling local goods such as cheese, wine and pie.
- Midday – Fort Casey. Next up is the historical Fort Casey. Built in 1897, Fort Casey was one of three forts that created a trap for boats entering Puget Sound.
