With full respect to all the other great books that Vaughan has written, I think Y: The Last Man is his best work and is one of my all-time favorite comics. This article could honestly be like one line long "Vaughan's best work to date, nuff said." I managed to get all 10 trades for $10 from a Facebook market post.
Most characters that I did care about got either killed or sidetracked, and the ending only cemented my opinion that "Y: The Last Man" is an interesting but ultimately very flawed attempt at milking the most out of a pretty unique concept. Reply reply. BigBortlesBrand. •.

Jan 2, 2002 · Y: The Last Man has a great premise -- all males (of every species) suddenly die -- except one. The story focuses on the lone male survivor and is an unraveling of why / how he survived the mysterious scourge. It helps that the last man standing is humorous and likable like so many of Brian K. Vaughan's characters.
