After digging more on sulfur ointments, I came across this ointment at Walmart ($5, 2.6oz, $1.92/oz) De La Cruz 10% Sulfur Ointment Acne Medication at Walmart. Obviously I see more value in it at only $1.92/oz and it lasts me roughly 3 months. It has been a lifesaver for me, I use it every 2-3 days like a lotion.
It eliminates 95% of the acne that I apply it to. FWIW, I have oily/combo skin and I follow a strict “fungal acne” routine of products suggested by simple skin care science. I’m in my 30s and all of my acne is hormonal since switching to the products that don’t feed fungal acne. This product, for me, is a must.

I really like sulfur the best as a treatment for my skin, but I couldn’t get the de la Cruz to work for me, even as a wash off. It was too drying. I really like the prosacea gel (I believe it has much less sulfur, like 1%). I use this over a moisturizing toner (pyunkang yul essence toner) and it kind of seals in the moisture.
