    It featured Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki from the films, albeit a Variant of Loki, from an alternate timeline that was previously portrayed in the film Avengers: Endgame.

    Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Sasha Lane and Tara Strong, also star as Agent Mobius M. Mobius, Ravonna Renslayer, Hunter B-15, Casey, Hunter C-20, and Miss Minutes, members of the Time Variance Authority. Sophia Di Martino and Richard E. Grant round out the main cast Di Martino as Sylvie Laufeydottir, a female Loki variant and Grant as Classic Loki Laufeyson, an elderly Loki variant.

    On December 10, 2020, at Disney Investor Day 2020, it was announced that the series would debut in May 2021. In February 2021, the series' release was pushed back to June 11th. On May 5, 2021, it was announced that the premiere date had been moved up to June 9, 2021, with a weekly release schedule on Wednesdays.
