The Album: War: All Day Music (UA, 1971) War's roots lay with a Long Beach R&B band, The Creators, founded by Howard Scott and Harold Brown in the early 1960s. A few years later, they changed their name to Nightshift (in honor of Brown's hours spent at a steel yard) and producer Jerry Goldstein thought the band would pair well with ex-Animal's singer, Eric Burdon.
