Don Draper’s time on our TV’s may be over, but the Mad Men series finale indicated he will continue to be just as Don Draper as ever.
The Mad Men finale was fascinating, delivering a lot of closure (far more than I expected) intermixed with a reminder that some people can never truly change, no matter how much they try to reinvent themselves.
I’d wondered if we’d even see Pete or Betty in the finale, given how much closure both were given last week. Both did appear, but really only got one big scene each -- outside of their concluding montage appearance, as Pete boarded that jet with Trudy and Betty, dying of lung cancer, sat smoking that cigarette -- tying up their most significant relationships on the show. For Betty, that meant one last interaction with Don, while Pete and Peggy shared a final scene together.
