It smelt like "sex and candy," she remarked, a description that Wozniak found "weird and cool." After a few years, in the beginning of the 1990s, Wozniak composed the song in under an hour. He chose to incorporate "all these weird disco-era references that I was making up, 'platform double suede' and all that business" with the phrase "sex and candy" in the song.
