Jul 16, 2022 · Jul 27, 2022. #10. Dura-Ace 7400 was the common spec for the Koga-Miyata FullPros. Before 7400 it was Dura-Ace EX or even AX in case of the early 80s FullPro-L and FullPro-A (A for aerodynamic). For the Max-tubing frame only the 1993 modelyear came with Shimano's Dura-Ace. 1993 modelyear FullPro-Limited review >>>.
The rear derailer is not original (its a Shimano Deore from the late 1980s). My estimate of the price is $500, based solely on what I see people asking for used bikes in NYC. The model is "Pro-Miyata", 99% sure it's a Koga Miyata, which was their European partnership.
Mar 12, 2024 · 59 cm Koga Miyata Pro Classic Koga Miyata Pro from the early 1980s. It is in reasonably good condition and is a very fast bike. It is lightweight and has great components.
Most miyata bikes are just solid and nothing special, but they put out a few sleepers over the years and some fun stuff as well. I passed on an old carbon miyata in my size because of wheel rub on the frame, I was imagining myself hitting a mountain pass as it fell apart. Only $200 complete! But not worth death on a 1986/1987 carbon bike.
This bike sports both braze-on and band-on, a clear sign of jury-rigging. Bikes of this level generally got braze-on during the 1960s - that little stop was the first one to re-appear after margins got squeezed in the late 1950s and all braze-ons disappeared for a few years.
