The mgex is a stunner, but funnily enough, seeing the MG in comparison does make me want to get it. End of the day, comparing the two would be unfair, mgex is meant to be a pure expression of detail, while the MG gives us what we saw in the anime in a more refined way at 1/100 scale. Both look fantastic in their own respective ways.
The kit looks fine as is to be honest, and I'm sure a lot of people will find the puke gold fine too. You will never get a like this for decades to come, so if you really like Strike Freedom or love to build a kit with intricate mechanism under the armor plates, then get it, and, if the color does bother you, then, well, you know, you can always paint.
Thirdly, very first MG Strike Freedom also didn't come with any holders for dragoons, and Full Blast edition had those flimsy pipes that didn't do diddly squat to hold them, and with MGEX, we can expect a Pbandai release that will include Wings of Light and holders for Dragoons.
