  2. Mk2 takes mild mods the best, but for a super clean, bone stock car, an original Celica Supra is the best. I almost bought a 78 supra with 75 ish thousand miles for $1500 but bailed out because it needed a heater core and I knew finding parts was going to be out of my league. I'm regretting that decision now.

  4. Jun 26, 2013 · The reason for this is because the 2JZ-GTE block is an 1/2" taller, so that means the 1JZ-GTE head will sit a 1/2" higher, meaning the turbo setup will sit 1/2" higher as well. The oil feed and drain on the 1JZ-GTE and 2JZ-GTE are in the same place but now you are relocating the turbo an extra 1/2" away.

In the Datsuns if you put a V8 with aluminum head and manifold you actually save weight. The other advantage to a V8 is that the CG of the motor is lower and if installed right shifted slightly to the rear.

  9. Jul 22, 2007 · very true, most cars take a dump with high miles. All mine are high, I have: 1999 Honda accord ex 142,000 miles. 1998 toyota Tacoma v6 206,000 miles. and the supra in the high 170's. Funny thing is I sold my 500hp evo with 9,000 miles to buy the supra and a chevy trailblazer with 14,000 miles to buy the accord.

Engine and turbo for about 700$, harness and sensor for prob 3 or 400, another couple hundred for performance exhaust and intake, boost controller, you got a reliable 300hp 3000lb car. A V-8 would require a lot of fitting and tooling, best of luck!
