Monte Kay (September 18, 1924 – May 25, 1988) was an American musicians' agent and record producer. Kay acted as a talent scout and as the musical director of several night clubs on the New York jazz scene in the late 1940s and 1950s.
Carroll was married four times. Her father boycotted the ceremony for her first wedding [citation needed] in 1956, to record producer Monte Kay, which was presided over by Adam Clayton Powell Jr. at the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem. The marriage ended in 1962.
