Mar 30, 2018 · A lot of prosecutors will charge Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (UUMV) rather than Theft, because it is an easier case to prove. They only have to show that the Defendant was using the vehicle without your permission. They do not have to show that the Defendant intended to permanently deprive you of the vehicle.
