  1. I think there's a section of the metal community that thinks certain power metal bands care more about being dorky than about writing and playing good music. Obviously the idea is absurd, but I think I understand where it comes from. The compositional tropes of power metal has changed a lot over the years.

  2. The Metal Observer, the site I write for, covers power metal quite a lot. I've done a few articles on there about Japanese power metal, as well as plenty of power metal reviews, both signed and underground bands. Black Wind Metal writes on almost nothing but power metal albums.
