Jan 21, 2024 · Since I bought my set Samsung have broken the browsers webcam/embedded video stream ability in 2019, (with an irreversible update), VM player via TV browser no longer works, and now Rte player by browser or app is dead. Nice.
Mar 26, 2023 · I tried countless browser's Inc chrome but rte website kept saying update browser to watch. The only one I found which worked was one called "tvbro browser" it isn't really that bad. The virgin media app and tg4 apps for Android tv have a live stream section on them.
Jan 7, 2024 · RTE Player, the app and essentially everything they hobble together is only slightly more sophisticated than tying a rock to a stick and calling it a tool. I'm convinced they get their tech done by a young lad selling services on Aliexpress.
Jun 9, 2021 · Well lads. Trying to get ready for the EURO 2020 on Friday but just noticed that my RTE Player is missing the live section. Updated the app on my 2019 Samsung Smart TV but still no Live section on the left. Any ideas why that could be? Cheers!

If you have UK players installed you won't see those updates if set to LG Ireland. I have mine set to LG UK and RTE player still works. So I leave it on LG UK to get the UK player updates. Maybe once every 6 months change it to see if there is an RTE update. Can't say I've checked since last yr and the RTE app is still working.
Oct 28, 2022 · The Androidtv/GoogleTVOS version of the RTE player is ONLY VOD.Only the phone/tablet version has live stream, but it will not install on the firestick. You're welcome to try patching the apk yourself and seeing what happens.
Feb 19, 2019 · RTE Player - No Option To Watch Live? Hi all, just set up RTE player on my Nvidia Shield but I'm not seeing any option to watch live programming, am I missing something? The android app has an On Now section, is it not available on the Nvidia Shield app for some reason?
Nov 3, 2019 · Turned out the built-in RTE player app (with the black icon) cannot be updated at all, you just need to download the new RTE Player app (red icon) and hide the old one. Clear as mud! Unfortunately I cannot see the new RTE player (red icon) in the Samsung Store to do this.
Jun 11, 2021 · Unfortunately it doesn't have live RTE player on Nowtv I looked it up. I was wondering this meself today because the euros is on. The best thing you can do is if you have a laptop is use a HDMI cable plug it into the laptop then it connects with the TV.
