Here in Germany the scroll saw is not very popular - the patterns you can get here cannot be compared with the wide range of patterns available in the United States.

When you scroll a puzzle the most important thing is to have a right angle between the blade and the table of the saw – otherwise the puzzlepieces will stick. It has proved to work well if you divide the whole puzzle into 3 or 4 smaller pieces that you saw apart afterwards. And don't forget to check if each piece slides smoothly into the next.

The two cuts on the upper leg are carved with a small carving knife and afterwards cautiously sanded with a small dremel. Here you see the sandes hind legs. The small mould in one of the legs near the knee contributes in the vivid look. This picture shows that the head is still flat and not yet sanded. The front of the cat is nearly finished.
