    Reservations for campsites and lodging can be made six months in advance of the arrival date. Each new date opens at 8 a.m. PST/PDT. Bookings may be extended from the arrival date to the desired departure date – based on availability and the park’s maximum stay rules.

    • Shenandoah River State Park. Shenandoah River State Park’s gentle, forested hills border nearly six miles of the lazy Shenandoah River. Campers can hook up their RVs at a campground near the parking area, or walk a short distance to ten primitive tent sites right next to their water.
    • Elizabeth Furnace Family Campground. The Elizabeth Furnace was used in the 19th century to make pig iron (or, crude iron) with water from the Passage Creek.
    • Gooney Creek Campground. This Shenandoah Valley campground is located minutes from Shenandoah National Park, with easy highway access. The Dyrt campers call it “cozy” because the sites are nestled among the trees near a creek with a fantastic swimming hole.
    • Low-Water Bridge Campgrounds. This is one of many family-friendly Shenandoah Valley campgrounds. There are 57 tent sites and three cabins available from April to November.

    In summer, reservations are strongly recommended. With the exception of trail camps, all reservations are site specific. They are available only by calling 1-800-444-7275 or online. Camping fees are for one vehicle and one legally towed vehicle. Additional vehicles will be charged a fee at the park.
