  1. I did some research on different types of monitors for my mac mini m1, as I was unsure whether to go with 4K with high DPI, or an ultra wide 5K monitor with higher refresh rate (eg 144 Hertz higher). If sharp/crisp text and images are important to you, I would choose a 4K 32” monitor with high DPI. 27” is too small, you end up zooming in ...

  2. If budget is a consideration i would recommend looking for a 27" 4k monitor with the features you need instead of 5k.. Sure it won't be quite as sharp but will still look very good compared to 1080p or 1440p and models available to suit all budgets. I personally use a Lenovo L28u-35 at the moment.

  3. I can definitely see a massive difference between, a 1440p monitor and a 5k 27" iMac. This got me researching into ppi (pixels per inch) - turns out that a 27" 1440p and a 1080p 24" display have only 17 ppi difference, 92 to 109, which is very close. Meanwhile a 4k monitor at 27" has a ppi of 163 - much closer to an iMac's resolution.

The Mac just isn’t great for gaming While the iMac’s big, gorgeous display and powerful M1 processor make it a capable casual gaming machine, Apple’s desktop just can’t replace my powerful Windows rig when it comes to the high-end PC titles I like to play — in terms of both performance and selection. When I open my Steam library on my iMac, only 13...

As someone who uses a computer primarily for everyday work tasks with some gaming, music production and content creation on the side, the new 24-inch iMac has ticked off almost every box for me after more than a month of heavy use. I love having a great display, an ample amount of power and a great webcam and speakers all packed into a single machi...
