That's the purpose of Tmodloader being released on Steam: To make it alot easier for players. When you install tmodloader, it will also download the terraria 1.3.5.3 Version. so your tmodloader etrraria will be seperate from your normal terraria (which is v1.4).

I ran into this issue too, here’s your solution: Tmodloader requires Terraria to be owned on that account, which family sharing doesnt do. The only workaround is purchasing it on the account itself. Its a different app on steam.
